1.The DORT (Dart Rail line) is a relatively inexpensive way to see the coastal towns around Dublin
2.Plenty of good music and gigs around Dublin on a regular basis
3.Your never more that 4/5 hours drive from anywhere in Ireland
4.The Aliwee (sp?) Caves - Clare - and the Marble Arch caves - NI - are AMAZING
5.Cobblestones pub in Smithfield is a great spot to have a pint and listen to session Musicians do some trad.
6.Asian Markets off George street have some good Food shopping
7.Wexford IS the sunny south east
